However, DR DREAM had shown ability earlier in the season which made him one of the best of this field on adjusted BHA ratings and he finally fulfilled that promise. He's reckoned ’a bit of a monkey’ by connections and may not have been suited by running in a lady riders’ race on his previous start but the very capable Aidan Coleman knew him and got the best out of him, leading two out for a workmanlike success. He may build on this success but he will need to if he is to score outside plating company.
Goldan Jess also had strong claims at the weights on his best and showed he remains in form with another decent effort, ahead of Mitrash, who had something to find on these terms and ran a good race, hitting the third and leading briefly two out but making another mistake there.
Gotcha Covered ran creditably, as did Castle Frome and Makandy - who led from the seventh flight until two out but weakened from the last as though this first run in 403 days may well have been needed. He should be better for the run.
