Thegalleryman soon well behind, fell 3rd
Littleton Aldor jumped right, led and raced freely, soon 20 lengths clear, mistake 6th, stumbled and unseated rider next
A Sea Commander chased clear leader, 20 lengths 2nd when left in narrow lead 7th, headed and weakened quickly 3 out, refused 2 out
Analyis of the race
A poor race, the complexion of which changed dramatically with just under a circuit to go when 20-length leader and hot favourite Littledon Aldor stumbled and unseated his rider a few strides after jumping the seventh fence, which he jumped to the right,like all of the others. That left A Sea Commander in front, but he is a poor performer who was 9lb out of the handicap, and he was readily brushed aside down the far side.
INN FOR THE DANCER had never won in 19 jumps races and another 14 on the Flat, but having been very patiently ridden while the favourite set a suicidal pace he could be named the winner going into the bottom bend and needed little more than shaking up to assert at the last and then come right away.
