Decider soon pushed along in midfield, weakened halfway, soon behind and eased
Kempsey soon ridden along and always trailing
Analyis of the race
A visor and a cunning plan worked the oracle for WHAT DO YOU KNOW, who raced virtually alone midtrack wide out from the pack in the first four furlongs before hanging across to end nearer the inside rail when clear. Connections had worried about the pre-race rain as he wants a sound surface and felt the ground was best midtrack, which had looked a possibility after the previous race. The winner has been consistent if a bit frustrating as he looks to save a little for himself after doing the hard work. Even the visor did not look to change his attitude as his head went back and he pricked his ears with the race won into the final 100yds. He has struggled off higher marks.
Desperate Dan, while lower than his all-weather mark after his good winter, still ran off a higher turf mark from last season. He kept on without threatening the winner and is well exposed.
Signor Panettiere blazed away hard against the inside rail and deserves credit for being beaten around 5l but that does not say much for those behind him.
