Captain Marvelous chased leaders, ridden over 1f out, ran on to lead near finish
Al Qasi held up, headway under pressure over 1f out, ran on
Eisteddfod chased leader until led over 1f out, soon ridden, edged left inside final furlong, headed near finish
Beckermet led, ridden and headed over 1f out, struck on head by rivals whip inside final furlong, stayed on
Appalachian Trail chased leaders, ridden over 2f out, weakened inside final furlong
Confuchias held up, headway under pressure over 1f out, weakened final furlong
Hurricane Spirit held up, always in rear, weakened over 2f out
Hotel Du Cap slowly into stride, soon prominent, ridden halfway, weakened well over 2f out
Al Qasi was held up in the early stages and made headway over three furlongs out and was staying on well near the finish. He was giving 5lb to the winner and he gave the impression he will come on considerably for this reappearance effort.
Beckermet ran a solid race and has shown some of his best form for Chris Catlin and his turn in this grade will come in due course once more.
Appalachian Trail is best with the strong pace he got here and kept on well enough towards the centre but the gamble on Confuchias never looked likely to materialise as he was held up and made some progress over a furlong out but was soon put in his place and obviously must have been showing a lot more at home.
