Tilt is another who will head to Chester next and he was held up towards the inside and stayed on well under pressure in the final two furlongs. He will be better suited by the two and a quarter miles on the Roodeye but will need a strong pace as he doesn’t look the sort to quicken readily.
Talenti had been running over hurdles without success but ran a fine race and made the running until headed by the winner and kept on at the same pace. Admittedly, he did set just a steady pace but he could be placed to advantage in a lesser race than this.
Millville is confirmed all-weather specialist and was close up until just outpaced in the final furlong and Puy D’Arnac was in the front rank for a long way but never looked likely to complete a hat-trick and faded in the final two furlongs facing tougher rivals than in the past. Prince Sabaah was held up to get the trip but was on the worst ground up the centre and was soon treading water inside the final two furlongs and Polish Red had every chance over two furlongs out but went out like a light and is another who appeared to find the trip too far.
