Resplendent Ace tracked leading pair, effort to lead 2f out, driven final furlong, held on all out
Turner´s Touch steadied start, held up in last, steady progress through rivals to track winner over 1f out, cajoled along to challenge final furlong, never finding quite enough
Sir Duke settled in 6th, pushed along from 4f out, driven and effort on inner to dispute 2nd over 1f out, not quicken and held final furlong
Saraba held up in last trio, progress when not clear run 2f out, ridden and stayed on one pace from over 1f out
Megalala led at moderate pace, ridden and headed 2f out, gradually outpaced
Steely Dan held up in 5th, coaxed along from over 2f out, found nil and no impression on leaders
Bold Adventure always in last trio, struggling in last over 2f out, one pace after
Kokkokila took keen hold, tracked leader to over 2f out, lost place quickly
Classic Hall took keen hold, tracked leading pair, losing place when hampered 2f out, soon behind
The winner kept on well though, to his credit, hitting the front well over a furlong out, and he put behind him a slightly disappointing on the turf at Doncaster last time. He is at home around here and he saw this out well, his trainer thinks he's improving and he’s pretty solid in this sort of grade.
Turner’s Touch did everything but go by in the closing stages and is just that kind of horse. George Baker did everything right but he could probably have done with a stronger overall gallop.
Saraba was momentarily checked in her run early in the straight as she tried to make her effort but she kept on well in the closing stages.
Megalala weakened at the business end having cut out the running and she seems more effective over 1m2f.
