Floodlight Fantasy took keen hold early, tracked leaders, went 2nd 2f out, closed on bit to lead just over 1f out, soon clear, easily
Mixing held up in midfield, progress over 2f out, driven and stayed on to take 2nd last 100yds, no chance with winner
Artzola started slowly, held up in last trio, ridden and progress from 2f out, ran on final furlong to take 3rd near finish
Bethanys Boy sweating, led after 2f, kicked on well over 2f out, headed just over 1f out, faded inside final furlong
Classic Blue held up in midfield, progress over 2f out, stayed on to chase leading pair over 1f out, kept on one pace after
Joleahs Star prominent, chased leader well over 2f out to 2f out, weakened rapidly final furlong
Chalice Welcome ridden in last trio after 4f, never really going, plugged on under strong pressure final 2f, no chance
Krakatau tracked leaders, effort over 2f out, ridden and nearly disputing 3rd over 1f out, soon weakened rapidly
Irish Ballad settled in midfield, ridden and lost place 3f out, brief rally 2f out, no danger and soon faded
Ndola always towards rear, ridden and no progress well over 2f out
Ben Bacchus led 2f, chased leader, ridden 4f out, weakened well over 2f out, eased
Dubai Shadow chased leaders, pushed along well over 2f out, soon lost place and behind
Ardglass started very slowly, last until brief effort 4f out, under pressure and beaten 3f out
He is expected to take his chance in a hands and heels race at Wolverhampton on Friday under the penalty and he’d have to be of clear interest given he’s clearly in great nick at present.
Pace setter Bethany’s Boy dropped anchor in front but despite having a relatively easy time on the lead, he couldn’t sustain his effort in the closing stages. Still, this was another fair effort and he is at least pretty reliable.
Classic Blue kept on at the one pace but she couldn’t build on her 1m2f win here last time despite this longer trip being in her favour.
