MONTIBOLI, fit from an all-weather campaign, travelled well in a prominent pitch and ran out a workmanlike winner, never being seriously pressed in the closing stages. This trip seemed to suit her perfectly.
Just Sam deserves credit. She stayed on dourly late on to clinch second, having been done no favours by her wide draw.
Kyllis, who has a recent all-weather run, ran respectably on his handicap debut, while Medici Time also deserves a mention. After a tardy start, he came from an unpromising early position down the inside rail and looked sure to be involved in the finish until flattening out inside the last. He can probably do better in time.
