Mischief Making tracked leaders, driven 3f out, headway on inside to lead over 1f out, stayed on strongly, eased towards finish

Silk Affair tracked leader, effort over 2f out, kept on same pace approaching final furlong

Planetarium led, shaken up over 2f out, headed and went left over 1f out, soon beaten, eased inside final furlong

All eyes here on Planetarium, who ended last term by finishing second to Twice Over, last week's Craven winner, at Newmarket. He made the running at a steady pace and, in a race that developed into a sprint from the final turn, was soon put in his place. Wandering under pressure, and finding little, the die was cast entering the last and he was eased, when beaten, towards the finish. He is surely a good deal better than this.

By contrast, MISCHIEF MAKING, fit from the all-weather and a progressive filly, sat last of the trio and, after briefly looking on the stretch as the tempo increased, picked up in terrific style up the rails and ran on strongly to the line. A big filly, she might not have been ideally suited by this sharp track but won all the same and there may be even more to come.
