Calzaghe tracked leaders, headway over 2f out, challenged over 1f out, led just inside final furlong, kept on
Top Spec held up, headway 3f out, switched left well over 1f out, effort on inner inside final furlong, soon ridden and kept on, not reach winner
Black Falcon took keen hold, tracked leaders until led halfway, ridden 2f out, headesd just inside final furlong, lost 2nd near finish
Just Intersky led 4f, close up, ridden along 3f out, weakened 2f out
Sularno close up, led after 4f, headed halfway, close up and every chance until ridden and weakened well over 1f out
It was a rather messy race, following a lull in the pace after 3f, and which only started to take shape once in line for home.
CALZAGHE, below form on soft ground last time, came back to the level he had previously shown at Doncaster and battled home well to defy top weight.
Top Spec ran a solid enough race, especially as the dawdling gallop can hardly have suited this hold-up horse, who requires a more even tow. He kept on nicely to the line.
Just Intersky ran a tame race, dropping away after briefly looking a little short of room, approaching the final furlong.
Sularno, visored for the first time, was soon racing up with the pace but dropped right out inside the final quarter-mile
