Ovthenight led 3f, prominent, led 2f out and soon ridden, driven over 1f out, edged right inside final furlong, held on well
Graylyn Ruby held up in touch, headway to track leaders over 4f out, challenged 2f out and soon ridden, driven over 1f out and every chance when carried right inside final furlong, no extra near finish
Balais Folly towards rear, headway 3f out, ridden over 2f out, stayed on under pressure approaching final furlong
Captain Mainwaring prominent, led over 3f out, ridden and headed 2f out, gradually weakened
Teadancer steadied start, held up and behind, headway 3f out, ridden over 2f out, kept on under pressure, never a factor
Ba Dreamflight held up, headway and in touch 5f out, ridden along over 3f out and soon no impression
Soxy Doxy towards rear, headway on outer 3f out, ridden along over 2f out and no progress
Dawn Wind chased leaders on inner, ridden along 4f out, soon weakened
Sand Maiden always towards rear

A well-grown, scopey individual, the winner is open to improvement and has the look of a hurdler for the future.
Graylyn Ruby was done no favours by the winner, who was hanging into him inside the final furlong. Under strong pressure, he went down fighting in second and can surely win a similar race in the near future. That said, he will go up a few pounds for this, given that the third was a dozen lengths back.
Captain Mainwaring was comfortably held in fourth, while Teadancer showed a glimmer of ability, staying on from an unpromising early position on her seasonal debut, and on her handicap bow.
