Currently rated 67, his future depends on how the handicapper treats him.
Director's Chair, who had shown ability in his two starts on the all-weather and both over 1m, had every chance but failed to see out this trip as well as the winner.
Orkney, who showed a glimpse of ability last season in his two starts, was upped in trip here and ran a satisfactory first race until coming to the end of his tether more than 1f out. He is now qualified for handicaps.
L'Orage, rated 52, will have better prospects in handicap company.
Heroic Lad, making his debut, showed a hint of ability before flattening out in the last 2f.
