Gala Evening tracked leaders in 3rd, ridden over 2f out, went 2nd over 1f out and driven to lead just inside final furlong, ran on strongly
The Carlton Cannes held up in close 4th, driven and quickened over 2f out to lead over 1f out, headed just inside final furlong and soon outpaced by winner
Jagger soon led, ridden over 2f out, headed over 1f out and soon weakened
Pearl chased leader, pushed along from 6f out, ridden 4f out, weakened over 2f out
Mister Completely towards rear but in touch, headway to close up 4f out, ridden 3f out, soon weakened
GALA EVENING made it three from three over course and distance despite the race not playing to his strengths. He was well on top at the line after a short sharp duel with The Carlton Cannes, who sat at the back before being unleashed off the home bend.
The Carlton Cannes should have been suited by the stop-start affair and sprint home. He loses little in defeat but it would be no surprise if he drops back down in trip.
