Swindon Town Flyer with leader until led halfway, soon under pressure, battled on gamely final furlong
Copperbottomed chased leading pair until went 2nd over 2f out, soon every chance, shaken up and edged left well over 1f out, ridden over 1f out, unable to quicken final furlong
Regal Veil led narrowly until halfway, 3rd and switched right over 1f out, outpaced final furlong
Heroic Fool slowly into stride, held up in touch, ridden and effort over 1f out, outpaced final furlong
Just Puddie soon ridden along in last, no chance last 2f
SWINDON TOWN FLYER is a bit quirky, but he had the blinkers back on and represented a stable in form. Having broken well from stall 1 he was always showing speed, and he wasin front from halfway. Copperbottomed had every chance to go by him, but he proved game under pressure and was always holding on.
Copperbottomed has been in great form on the all-weather and had the best of the weights if able to reproduce that running on turf. However, his turf record was zero from three, and he was drawn on the outside, albeit in a small field. He had every chance, but he was racing away from the rail and couldn’t quicken on this surface.
Just Puddie was always struggling.
