Clumber Place made all, ridden over 1f out, edged right and stayed on well final furlong
Camelot Communion tracked leading pair, headway to challenge over 1f out, ridden and every chance inside final furlong until driven and no extra last 75yds
Asian Tale dwelt and towards rear, good headway on outer well over 1f out, ridden entering final furlong, kept on same pace
Transcentral went right start, took keen hold and soon close up, every chance 2f out, soon ridden and weakened over 1f out
Rosabee in touch, ridden along over 2f out, soon one pace
Sale Or Return chased leaders, ridden along 2f out, weakened over 1f out
Orphaned Annie slowly into stride, always in rear
CLUMBER PLACE wanted to get on with it from the outset and it seemed that might have taken the edge off her in the closing stages, but she stuck to her task well and did not have to be knocked about to hold off the challengers rather comfortably.
Her trainer feels she "is class" and reckons she will be hard to beat in the next month. The Lily Agnes at Chester and the Hilary Needler at Beverley are on the agenda. Loch Jipp won yesterday's race last year and she went on to land the Beverley prize.
Asian Tale looked a bit green and did not handle the bend that well, but she kept on and ran. She will be worth a look next time.
Rosabee was not disgraced. Sale Or Return looked in need of the run and is likely to prove better with time and experience.
