Marjalina dwelt, towards rear, progress on inner into 4th under 2f out, ridden to go moderate 2nd 1f out, wandered around inside final furlong, stayed on well to lead near line
Savethisdanceforme mid-division, good headway to lead under 2f out and soon clear, kept on same pace close home and headed near line
Deauville Vision close up, 3rd from over 3f out, no impression under pressure and kept on same pace from over 1f out
Jalmira towards rear, closer in 6th over 3f out, no impression under pressure and kept on same pace from over 1f out
Indiana Gal soon led, strongly pressed and headed under 2f out, no extra from over 1f out
Ice Queen towards rear, ridden over 3f out, soon no impression
Lush Lashes took keen hold and led early, tracked leader after, lost place and weakened from under 2f out
Danehill Music chased leaders, 7th over 3f out, no extra from under 2f out
Truly Mine tracked leaders, beaten when slightly hampered under 2f out, no extra and weakened
Savethisdanceforme, who carried 2lb overweight, had a very different profile to the winner. She raced six times last year for two wins, including a nine-length victory in a Listed event over this course and trip on her final start having previously run fourth in the Prix Marcel Boussac. Held up off an ordinary enough pace, she hit the front under 2f out and was soon clear. She looked all set to score before tiring and being collared late on. She will be more effectiveon better ground and remains a probable for the 1,000 Guineas.
Jalmira, twice a Listed winner last year, has won on most types of ground although good ground seems to suit her best. She made some progress from behind from over 3fout but never got into serious contention.
Indiana Gal, a four time winner, had started her season with victory on the all-weather at Dundalk 16 days previously. She had it all to do here and after making the running for just over 6f she was soon done with.
Lush Lashes, winner of the Goffs Fillies Million here over 7f on her only start last season, was encountering very different ground on this occasion. Soon prominent, she raced quite keenly before dropping away from 2f out. Her performance did nothing to advertise her Classic claims but it will be a surprise if she doesn't leave this performance well behind her when she gets decent ground. [TO’H]
