Queen Musa mid-division, headway 3 out, ridden and every chance approaching 2 out, soon weakened
Pan The Man mid-division, ridden after 3 out, soon beaten
Saddlers Blaze chased leaders until 3 out, soon weakened
Flag Flier chased leaders until 6th, soon tailed off
True Dove hit 3rd and next, always behind, tailed off and pulled up before 2 out
Porters War tracked leaders, mistake 7th, led approaching 2 out, soon ridden, headed and held in 3rd when fell last
Analyis of the race
The ground was closer to good than anything else although there were a few quicker patches on the chase course.
FAIROAK LAD had not run for four months, but that did not stop him opening his account at the third time of asking. He ran around up the straight, but that was his inexperience showing and he knuckled down to the job at hand in the end. He won going away and further will not be a problem. He should be up to defying a penalty in another one of these as he can only go the right way.
Nom De Guerre set the standard and had his chance before being brushed aside by the winner. Fences look the way ahead for him.
Enroblim Trop is now eligible for a mark, and he could be the type his trainer does well with over the summer.
Porters War, trying to follow up his Southwell win, was beaten when coming down.
