You Do The Math always prominent, chased leader from 4th, led after 3 out, clear from 2 out, unchallenged
Flax Hill held up, soon mid-division, headway and hit 7th, mistake 8th (water), went 2nd 2 out, no chance with winner
Saint Romble held up and behind, reminders after 10th, went moderate 3rd last
Patrick´s Double took keen hold in mid-division, jumped slowly 5th, headway 6th, weakened 2 out
Corkan always behind, lost touch 7th
Knightsbridge Hill always behind, lost touch 7th
Whereareyounow led until after 3 out, weakened quickly 2 out
Mel In Blue took keen hold in touch, mistake 9th, weakened 3 out, tailed off when pulled up before last
I´m Dreaming chased leader to 4th, weakened 9th, tailed off when pulled up before 2 out
YOU DO THE MATH was stretched over 2m4f last time which stood him in good stead for this test and he travelled and quickened up well to put the race to bed at the second-last. He could come back for the Horse and Hound Cup in a month's time over even further and with cut in the ground, he should be a serious contender.
Flax Hill won a separate race for second, although trailblazer Whereareyounow emptied quickly after three out and last year's winner Mel In Blue, who blundered at halfway, was not the same horse on this slower surface than a year ago.
Patrick's Double ruined his chance by being far too enthusiastic early, pulling his way up from the back midrace and as such he did well to contest third up the straight, jumping right whentired at the last to finally concede that place.
