Montevideo held up in rear, pushed along 11th, ridden and disputing 10 lengths 3rd when hit 2 out, headway approaching last, hung left flat, stayed on to lead towards finish

Nikola always prominent, joined leader 9th, led 11th, ridden approaching 2 out, headed and no extra towards finish

Scotland Yard held up in touch, hit 4 out, soon ridden, every chance 2 out, weakened flat

Supreme Leisure behind, not fluent 5th, no chance when blundered 3 out

Nictos De Bersy jumped right, chased leader to 9th, soon ridden, weakening when mistake 11th

Inch Over always behind, tailed off when pulled up before 11th

Back Among Friends led, jumped left 2nd and 3rd, headed 11th, weakened and eased approaching 2 out, pulled up before last

There must have been some serious in-running carnage on the exchanges because MONTEVIDEO looked in all sorts of trouble four out, where he was ten lengths down and seemingly going nowhere. But as the leading pair began to tire after the second last he sprouted wings to surge through. He stays further than this, so it shouldn't be the biggest surprise that he didn't have the pace to keep tabs on a few of these, especially on drying ground, but he's getting the hang of this and his jumping was pretty fluent.

Back Among Friends didn't get home and looks an out-and-out two miler.
