The lightly raced German-bred SULLUMO proved a stronger stayer than West End Rocker as the pair left Peters Star behind approaching the second last flight. This was his second course-and-distance win (injured himself afterwards, hence his absence) and his trainer, who thinks a fair bit of him, insists he's a good horse who will be better suited by softer ground and he confirmed that he'll be kept to hurdles next season.
West End Rocker ran his race and did nothing wrong, travelling well and battling on to finish a long way clear of a decent typein third. There are more races to be won with him this summer.
Innox, who is in the twilight of his career, was the only other one in it and although only one-paced in the closing stages, this was a more encouraging effort after being pulled up over fences last time. This might do his confidence some good.
