Machrihanish led 2nd, not fluent and headed 3 out, soon ridden and rallied, led soon after last, ran on well, ridden out
Twenty Degrees held up, crept closer after 4 out, disputed close 3rd 3 out, waited with, ridden and ran on from last, not quite pace of winner
Fruitfull Citizen led, pecked 1st, headed next, prominent, led 3 out, soon ridden, not fluent last, soon headed, no extra
Howard Howard close up, ridden after 13th, disputed close 3rd from 3 out, kept on same pace from last
Red Brook Lad held up behind leaders, headway approaching 3 out to dispute close 3rd, soon ridden, kept on same pace from last
Monty Be Quick tracked leaders, 4th when blundered 4 out, soon ridden and weakened
Maxou Des Brosses held up, blundered and unseated rider 3rd
Twenty Degrees has changed yards since finishing down the field in the Cheltenham Foxhunter and, though he has to be produced late, he did not really help himself by being a bit sloppy at the second-last. He was the best left in the race after the withdrawals but there is always a question mark against his name.
Howard Howard was placed yet again but has not won for a year.
Red Brook Lad is in decline as he would have picked these up a couple of years ago.
