Killard Point chased leaders, slight lead from 4th, ridden approaching 2 out, narrowly headed after last, stayed on same pace

Foxspur chased leaders to 7th, weakened 4 out and not much room soon after, tailed off when pulled up before 2 out

A race of changing fortunes for this ordinary novice handicap hurdle as plenty had chances as they turned for home but it was the patiently ridden OBERON MOON who prevailed. He had plenty to do being no nearer than 11th two out and the victory probably owes more to his rider's prowess in the saddle than anything else.A first-time tongue-tie also helped as well as he had struggled at this trip last time. He cramped up on his return to the winner's enclosure but was later able to be led away afterwards.

Tisfreetdream has not won in 18 previous attempts so that casts a bit of a shadow over the bare form as well. He did little wrong in the context of the race and as long as he can repeat the dose when not aimed as high there must be a little race in him.

Killard Point is better known as a staying chaser but got in here off a lower hurdles rating and seemingly ran his race but fences suit him better.

So Now could never really muster the pace in what was effectively a better heat than he had been contesting but he was not disgraced.

Runthatpastmeagain had his chance on his first tryat this far but looks a chaser for the future.

Seize had broken his duck in a minor affair last time but found this a step too far after having his chance two out.
