STAN seems to have rediscovered the ability that looked lost as he followed up his Aintree win despite not appearing that well handicapped. Before his recent Aintree call all his wins of three years ago had been achieved on fast ground but he now handles anything on the evidence of his two successes this month. Connections intend to keep him busy as he is now likely to travel to Ayr for a 2m handicap chase on Saturday.
Il Duce at least completed this time as he had pulled up the last twice. Maybe he comes good in the spring and autumn as he came good in blinkers last May and was then runner-up in the Paddy Power Gold Cup last November.
Boychuk came fromway off the pace but his jumping does not help his cause.
Kelrev is still paying for his win at Newbury in December.
Abragante was never really competitive and seems to be a better horse really fresh.
Celestial Gold was sent off in front rather than being held up and at one stage he looked like nicking it but he is really struggling to regain the form he showed before an enforced break through injury.
