Ask Again held up in mid-division, headway approaching 10th, lost place 11th, rallied 4 out, stayed on same pace from 2 out
Flashy Sir held up, headway approaching 10th, outpaced 4 out, no danger after
Rockwithacaveman behind, mistake and rider lost iron briefly 8th (water), headway 4 out, weakened approaching 2 out
Lisheen Storm chased leaders until weakened approaching 4 out
Feeling Better chased leaders until weakened 10th
Gaye Trigger held up, mistake 1st, headway approaching 10th, weakened approaching 4 out, pulled up before last
MARBLEHEAD is a habitual pacesetter and, surprisingly, they let him have his own way, with nothing but the second trying to keep tabs on him.
What would havehappened if they had taken him on is anybody's guess, but there must be a question mark over the bare form.
Why Connie, bumped along in the straight, was a spent force when getting the second-last slightly wrong.
Ask Again could plug on at only the one pace.
