As in the previous event on the straight course, they split into two groups, but just a head separated the two sides with IMPERIAL ECHO coming late to get up on the line. He was second in the 7f handicap on this card last year, and was off an 11lb lower mark here, so is clearly well treated at present having lost his form. Whether he can build on this remains to be seen.
Soto, who goes well on soft, was one of a group of six who raced far side. He showed up well and came out best of the sextet, just in front of Nottingham winner Dorn Dancer, who is perhaps better covered up in a biggerfield, although she was far from disgraced.
Double Carpet seemed to have every chance, but Windjammer met trouble and his form is best ignored.
Danum Dancer hung right throughout, reported his rider.
