Probably not the strongest of sprint maidens as the winner is rated 62 and the second 64. Fourth in a couple of juvenile maidens over 5f here last term, but rather disappointing on the all-weather, the winner MY KAISER CHIEF came back to form over this longer trip with the help of a high draw. Checked in his run at halfway, he picked up well in the last 2f and ran out a decisive winner. He's unexposed at this trip and hasn't had a great deal of turf racing, so might progress a little.

Rio Sands wasn't as well drawn as the winner, but showed up most of the way and may find a similar race. Everything, rated 70, is also pretty exposed, but he had the worth of the draw here, and ran on well in the final furlong to take third. He's had plenty of chances, but has the ability to win a race.

The saddle slipped on Meathop.
