Dushstorm held up in touch, headway to lead well over 1f out, clear 1f out, comfortably
Steely Dan steadied start, took keen hold, held up in touch, ridden and headway over 2f out, chased winner final furlong, kept on but not pace to threaten winner
Just Intersky steadied start, held up in touch in rear, ridden 3f out, kept on fom over 1f out, never pace to trouble winner
Title Deed chased leader until 2f out, outpaced under pressure over 1f out
Smokey The Bear took keen hold, chased leaders, ridden and outpaced over 2f out, no danger after
Doctor Ned led until well over 1f out, weakened under pressure final furlong
He was idling when clear in the final furlong and wasvalue for more than the bare margin, having settled the race fully 2f out. He looks a shrewd claim by connections and can win again in this mood.
Steely Dan used to be a standing dish at Lingfield, peaking off a stone higher mark, but he remains in good heart into the veteran stage. He was up against it on official ratings and has run another solid race. This will not help his handicap mark, which has eased a few pounds.
Smokey The Bear, who was thrown in here on his best winter form and on official figures, was most disappointing, running very flat, and the lack of all-round pace could not be blamed. He has clearly had enough for now after being set stern assignments recently.
