Always A Rock made all, shaken up inside final furlong, ran on well
Opera Prince held up in touch, ridden to chase winner and hung left 1f out, no impression
Agente Romano held up and behind, headway on wide outside over 2f out, came wide straight, kept on same pace final furlong
St Michael´s Mount took keen hold, chased winner, weakened final furlong
Tantris slowly into stride, soon held up in mid-division, headway over 2f out, not much room on inside just inside final furlong, one pace
Key News held up in mid-division, headway on outside over 2f out, weakened well over 1f out
Tallest Peak always behind
Annawanna slowly into stride, prominent until ridden and weakened over 2f out
Lucky Character prominent, ridden over 3f out, weakened 2f out
Bombay Dreams started slowly, always in rear
Opera Prince had not shown a lot in two runs last season and has been gelded since. The operation seems to have worked and, though the gelding showed signs of greenness, hanging under pressure, this was a big step up on last year's form.
St Michael's Mount raced keenly on this first outing since September and that cost him in the closing stages.
Tantris did not have the best of runs in the straight and, considering he is bred to need much further, this was an encouraging first run of the season for him.
