CARRY ON CLEO won a couple of claimers over course and distance in December but has struggled since the turn of the year. However, a recent third over 1m2f at Windsor was a fair effort and, back to her best trip here, she showed a good attitude underpressure to reel in Bridge Of Fermoy in the final strides.

Bridge Of Fermoy looked all over the winner when easing into a three-length lead early in the straight, and his rider George Baker was looking round for dangers approaching the furlong mark. Carry On Cleo's progress quickly made Baker realise he had a battle on his hands, and Bridge Of Fermoy found himself run out of it close home. This was his second successive odds-on defeat.

Coole Dodger, having his first run since leaving Brendan Powell, lost all chance by hanging badly right on the home turn and does not look straightforward.
