Analyis of the race

A fairly competitive handicap, which proved just the ticket for LUSCIVIOUS to return to winning ways. With the prime draw, and the soft ground in his favour, he did his job in grand style. He has dropped to a good mark and he could well win again under a penalty while conditions are in his favour.

Old Malapropism showed plenty of dash and could hardly have shaped more encouragingly on his seasonal bow, especially as he's a horse who normally doesn't come to himself until a little later in the season.

Come Out Fighting, fit from the all-weather, ran a creditable race back on turf, while Glasshoughton, although comfortably beaten by the first three, shaped nicely on his seasonal bow.

Wyatt Earp began to find his stride inside the last two furlongs, but he was briefly held-up in his run and although staying on late, he was never nearer than at the line.

Carrribean Coral, who ran so well in defeat at Musselburgh, was never really going here. This ground might not have been to his liking.
