JUDGE 'N JURY's only previous win was gained on Polytrack and he was unproven on turf, but he is by Pivotal, whose progeny love a bit of cut. After showing good speed, he kept on strongly for pressure and deserves extracredit as his rider briefly dropped his reins inside the final furlong.
He should remain competitive when there is a bit of give underfoot, and will also have the option of switching back to sand.
Spoof Master, in good form in defeat on sand lately, had the ground to suit on his return to turf but he was again just held, after having to switch left towards the middle of the track with his effort.
He has won just one of his 20 starts but might find a small race in the coming weeks.
Tilly's Dream confirmed the promise of her recent second on the Fibresand at Southwell and was not beaten very far, despite appearing to hang left.
Cerebus has been kept busy on the sand lately, but she showed she is holding her form well with a decent effort in defeat. She has yet to win on turf, but might be able to put that right at some point.
Namir was never really involved after starting slowly. Princess Ellis is entitled to come on for this first run in 171 days.
Digital was soon badly outpaced and never looked like defying a penalty for his recent Bath success. Music Box Express, nibbled at in the morning, was well held.
