ASPEN DARLIN, a 10,000 euro daughter of Indian Haven justified market support with a winning debut. She struggled a touch to lay up with the furious early pace, but really found her stride as the leaders began to come back early in the straight and she stayed on strongest of all to get up close home and win going away. Her trainer is of the opinion she will be better suited by good ground, but thinks she is probably just a nursery type for later in the season.
Miss Hollybell looked the winner early inside the final furlong, but she was collared close home. This was a pleasing debut and she might be able to find a similar race for her bang in-form yard.
Bethie showed loads of early speed to match strides with the favourite, but she could not sustain her challenge after sticking more towards the far rail. She is entitled to come on for this and has the natural speed to win a similar contest.
Premier Krug, a 24,000 euro Xaar filly, half-sister to very smart dual 1m winner Kilworth, missed the break and was too green to do herself justice, but she was noted doing some good late work. She should have learnt plenty and can improve.
Kyllorien was green to post and looked in need of the experience in the race itself.
