FUAIGH MOR, a 6,000 euro daughter of Dubai Destination, half-sister to among others smart 6f-7f winner Medley, out of a 5f juvenile winner, was supported on course and she justified the money with a game success on her racecourse debut.
Having raced just off the pace through the early stages, she responded well when asked for her effort early in the straight and just proved good enough. She has some size about her and, bought in for 7,600gns, it will be a little surprising if shecannot add to this in similarly moderate company at some point.
Dancing Wave, who showed ability on her debut at Warwick but was well beaten next time on the Fibresand at Southwell, benefited from the drop in grade and was just held. She showed plenty of speed, but found Fuaigh Mor too strong inside the final furlong. Once headed, she did stick to her task, though, and clear of the remainder, she should find a similar race.
Heaven Or Hell, whose trainer won this race with Wizby in 2005, wasbought in for 4,200gns after winning on his debut in this grade at Bath, but he found this tougher under his penalty, despite a 7lb claimer taking over. He will probably continue to be vulnerable, although he should be able to find weaker races at some point.
Talulah Bells was well beaten on her debut at Bath behind Heaven Or Hell, but this was better and, although clearly only moderate, at least she is going the right way.
Kheley gave trouble in the paddock and was very green in the race itself, missing the break and then hanging in the straight. Despite all that, she showed some ability and, not a bad type for the grade, she might be capable of better if growing up.
Makaluna showed good speed but could not sustain his effort. He should come on for this and better ground might help.
There was not much of Champagne Leader and she showed little for a trainer who won this race last year.
