JASER was proven on the ground, having won on similar going hereearly in the month. Runner-up Stevie Thunder has franked the form since, and Jaser defied an 8lb rise in the weights to score going away in the end.
He is clearly going the right way, but faces another hike in the weights after this performance.
Conquisto failed to make the frame in three runs as a juvenile but ran a fine race on this handicap debut and should be able to win races off his present mark.
Bermacha’s creditable third suggests that she has trained on nicely from last year, and this Polytrack winner is likely to be seen to better effect on rather better going.
Kiwi Bay was much too keen to halfway, Crosstar was eased right down from 2f out, Sky Dive was also eased when it was clear he had no chance, while Elysee Palace’s rider did not look happy with the wayhis horse was moving in the closing stages and was not hard on her when out of contention.
Trainer Luca Cumani’s representative reported that Sky Dive was unsuited by the soft ground, and Seb Sanders reported the same of Crosstar.
