Analyis of the race

A competitive little handicap, won gamely from the front by MINERAL RIGHTS. Fitted with a visor for the first time, Mineral Rights was soon at the lead of affairs, was allowed an uncontested lead and, after looking beaten when Cape Of Storms got to him 100 yards out, he rallied well for pressure to produce his best effort to date.

Cape Of Storms looked to have judged his effort just right, but he was inclined to edge left as soon as he hit the front and that possibly cost him victory. He has now been placed second on six occasions, as against just the one win to his name, and that rather tells its own tale.

*Russell Kennemore reported that Cap St Jean had bolted to post.
