Trainer John Dunlop was downbeat about his winner despite this well-bred son of her owner's French Oaks winner holding a handful of Group 1 entries along with the Group 2 Dante. He impressed in travelling well off the sound pace and he was value for far more than the wide margin.
Criterion did not impress paddock watchers but he did little wrong in the race, always up with the pace and battling on under strong pressure. That the rest failed to get past him adds to the impression that this was a modest contest.
Crazy About You stepped up on her debut effort last midsummer, benefiting from the step up in trip.
Rock Peak finished clear of the rest and is now eligible for handicaps.
Emerald Crystal set the sound pace and failed to see out this longer trip on his seasonal return.
Force Tradition ran well enough on this racecourse debut especially as he looked uneasy on the ground.
Hasty Retreat was reported to have been hampered on the bend.
