Analyis of the race

A mares' bumper run at a modest gallop early on, though the pace lifted down the far side and it ended up a fair test. MEWSTONE had shaped well on her debut, and though keen early, she went for home in the straight and ran on gamely despite edging right and left. She clearly acts in soft ground.

Rith Bob stayed on well to snatch second place from the newcomer Smuglin, who moved up to have every chance over two furlongs out but then ran green.

Midsummer Magic, who had shaped well in a decent Fakenham bumper on her debut, was disappointing and may need better ground.
