Planet Of Sound made all, driven along 2 out, hard ridden run-in, kept on well
Calgary Bay tracked winner from 2nd, not fluent 3rd, driven along after 2 out, not pace to reach winner and stayed on same pace
Working Title held up in touch, headway to chase leaders after 3 out, ridden last, stayed on to close on 2nd near finish but no impression on winner
Free World chased leaders, outpaced 2 out, soon driven along, stayed on again run-in
Buffalo Bob tracked leaders until outpaced after 3 out
Little Bit Of Hush in rear, some progress approaching 3 out, soon faded
The Good Guy blundered 1st, in rear, some progress after 4 out, faded next
West Ridge held up in rear, brief effort approaching 3 out, soon behind again
Wiesenfurst in rear, headway approaching 3 out, soon weakened
PLANET OF SOUND, in receipt of 4lb from the front two, made all the running, dictating at just a modest pace. He jumped fluently, except for reaching for the last, and having opened up a couple of lengths lead, he stayed on strongly to win in pretty commanding fashion.
The winner is proving a progressive novice hurdler, but he’ll be sent novice chasing next term, where connections expect him to really come into his own. He’s a promising horse.
Working Title faced his toughest assignment so far and he travelled well for a long way and is clearly a talented novice in his own right, but on what we’ve seen of him so far he comes up short of the top level.
Free World’s finishing effort was far too tame for comfort and he’ll need to step up considerably on this, though it is likely he’ll be sent chasing sooner rather than later. (GB)
