River Reine settled midfield, went 3rd after 7th, led after 3 out, held on well flat and had something in reserve
Go West jumped slowly 3rd and reminders, ran in snatches, headway after 7th, went 2nd after 3 out, tried to challenge last, driven and no impression
Mister Sher held up, headway after 7th, last of 5 going clear 3 out, 3rd next and flattered briefly, ridden and kept on same pace
Pangbourne led 3rd, blundered badly 3 out, soon headed, not run on, racing awkwardly in 4th before 2 out
Harrycone Lewis chased leaders, ridden before 7th, slightly hampered 9th, beaten before 3 out
Woodlands Genpower reluctant to race, always well behind, tailed off 6th but plodded past some stragglers
Minster Abbi held up and behind, driven and looked to be struggling when hampered 9th
Ortega behind, some progress in midfield when hampered 9th, soon lost touch
Boris The Blade close up, 2nd after 7th, ridden and faded 3 out
Alderman Rose ridden before 7th, chased leaders, weakened before 3 out, tailed off
Ballyboley midfield, hampered 9th, soon struggling, badly tailed off
Delightful Cliche dropped to rear and ridden 6th, not keen and soon badly tailed off
Ice And Soda led until 3rd, pushed along before 5th, dropped out rapidly before 7th, still coming to 2 out as winner finished

Push The Port close up early, dropped to rear 6th, soon struggling, 21 lengths 5th when virtually fell and unseated rider last
RIVER REINE won over this course and distance back in 2004, but broke down on that occasion and, after a slow recovery and a spell of pointing, she made her return to racing under rules when a well-beaten sixth of seven over 2m5f at Warwick last month. But the ground was riding soft that dayand she proved a very different proposition on good ground (and over an extra 3f) here as she scored gamely from 5lb out of the handicap. She should be able to find more races off her present mark this spring.
Go West, who has proved very disappointing this season, was now fitted with first-time blinkers and ran a much better race in the headgear. However, he still looked a hard ride, tending to race in snatches and then hanging under pressure in the straight.
Pangbourne, disappointing at Newbury last time and with blinkers back on here, travelled well in the headgear but got the third-last flight all wrong and could never recover.
Harrycone Lewis, who has been running poorly over fences recently, was being chased along from halfway on this return to hurdling and, though slightly hampered by the fall of Jaloux D'Estruval, this cannot be offered as an excuse for his defeat.
Boris The Blade, who won twice on heavy ground last month, was in trouble a long way out on this better going and he may not find opportunities easy to find in coming weeks, especially as he has taken a hike in the weights.
