Radnor Lad not always fluent, led until blundered 3rd, led 7th, nearly 30 lengths clear with 1 rival 9th, soon headed, led again 14th, 12 lengths ahead when blundered badly 3 out, ridden and kept on well from next, fine opportunist ride
Carry Duff settled in bunch behind 2 long leaders, stayed on after 3 out, still 4th at last, ridden into 2nd close home
Croc An Oir last at 6th, kept on to dispute moderate 3rd at 15th, no real impression after
Zacharova soon chasing 2 who were well clear, still 20 lengths 3rd at 12th, ridden 13th, went 2nd after 15th, unable to take advantage of blunder of winner 3 out, very tired when losing 2 places after last
Keepatem midfield, never near leaders, brief effort but jumped slowly 12th and ridden, beaten 3 out, finished very tired
Sycho Fred jumped slowly 5th, behind, not fluent 11th, never on terms, rider dropped whip after 2 out
The Ring jumped slowly 4th, prominent in chasing group until ridden and weakened 13th, tailed off
Read All About It mistake 9th, not fluent 10th, always behind, tailed off and pulled up 13th
Nagam jumped slowly early, off pace and never better than midfield, ridden 11th, weakened and mistake 14th, tailed off and pulled up 2 out
Padre led 3rd and already clear with winner, headed 7th, led after 9th until 14th, ridden and hung badly left, 30 lengths 7th and exhausted when blundered and unseated rider 3 out
Padre did indeed run out of steam five out, but RADNOR LAD, despite some alarmingly erratic jumping, confirmed that he has got stamina in abundance - something he had previously shown when a 3m2f winner over hurdles - as he kept on well up the final hill to win unchallenged. He should win more races from his present mark, but needs to get his jumping together if he is to realise his full potential.
Carry Duff, disappointing at Carlisle last time, bounced back to the form he had shown when second on heavy ground here in January. Stamina is clearly his long suit - he was a 3m3f winner at Sedgefield last year - and he evidently does nothing quickly.
Zacharova, a beaten favourite in two runs since winning a weak race at Market Rasen, led the pursuit of the runaway leader through the final mile, but could make no real impression and his stamina gave out on the run-in.
