Analyis of the race

ROBBERS GLEN, winner of his last four starts in point-to-points, gained his first win under rules in this maiden hunters' chase, and did so in smashing style. An enthusiastic horse, who jumps soundly, he received a lovely ride from his owner-trainer Valerie Jackson, a very experienced horsewoman. He looks a decent horse in the making and it would come as no surprise if one or two professional outfits did not make enquiries about trying to acquire him for next season.

Uncle Neil came out best ofthe rest, but was no danger to the easy winner.

Donati, done no favours on the first circuit when another runner was taken off the course, was well held in the closing stages.

Silver Monument made any number of mistakes, which ruined any chance she might have had.

Hartburn never got a look in at the leaders.
