The Whisperer in touch, headway halfway, not fluent 3 out, chased winner next, hung right run-in, no extra last 100yds
Leney Dow Jones held up in touch, outpaced 4 out, rallied under pressure to chase clear leaders last, no impression
Prince Mouse close up, led 10th to 4 out, lost second 2 out, weakened before last
Surricate led to 10th, ridden and weakened from 4 out
Athollbrose took keen hold early, close up until weakened from 3 out
Hurricane Basil held up, headway and prominent 7th, lost place 11th, soon struggling
Shrewd Investor close up until blundered and lost place 4th, behind when blundered badly 13th, no chance when blundered and unseated rider last
Hooky´s Quest behind, mistake 2nd, soon struggling, tailed off when pulled up before 11th
Here, over a shorter trip, he was put in his place by OR DE GRUGY, who proved too strong for him whenthe chips were down. The runner-up was being rousted along from a fair way out and looked a little laboured in his performance. There will be other days for him, probably back over 3m and on less sticky ground.
Leney Dow Jones was well held in third.
Surricate dropped out tamely, while Shrewd Investor spoiled his chances by making jumping errors.
