Fiulin held up in touch, effort to chase leaders 3f out, ridden along over 2f out, headway to lead over 1f out and soon clear
Special Reserve led, ridden along over 2f out, driven and headed over 1f out, soon one pace
Full Speed tracked leader, headway on bit and close up 3f out, shaken up well over 1f out and soon one pace
Vice Consul tracked leading pair, headway and close up 4f out, ridden along 3f out and soon weakened
Capal Dubh Alainn held up, effort 4f out, soon ridden along and outpaced 3f out
He was stepped-up in trip and, as it turned out, he needed it. Outpaced and inclined to lug to his left three furlongs out, he took a while to reach top gear, but came away inside the last to win nicely in the end. Handicaps now await him.
Special Reserve had every chance, but he was unable to cope with the winner inside the last furlong.
Vice Consul, ridden and edging left from three furlongs out, was soon put in his place, while Capal Dubh Alainn will find himself better served in handicaps.
