Tasdeer close up, shaken up to lead well over 1f out, ridden clear approaching final furlong, stayed on strongly
Spitfire held up, effort and not much room 2f out, switched right and headway over 1f out, ridden to chase winner inside final furlong, kept on
Silver Wind held up, pushed along and outpaced halfway, headway 2f out, soon driven and kept on under pressure final furlong
Kalhan Sands chased leaders, headway over 2f out, ridden well over 1f out and soon one pace
Mister Hardy led, ridden along over 2f out, headed well over 1f out and soon weakened
Baronovici took keen hold, prominent, ridden along well over 2f out and soon weakened
Spitfire, narrowly the pick of the weights in this race, finished a creditable runner-up and, unlike the winner, did not have the advantage of a previous run this season. Rated 99, he is not going to be easy to place this season, but an opportunity or two should come his way.
Kalhan Sands had plenty on his plate at these weights andwas comfortably held in the last two furlongs.
Mister Hardy bowled along in front, but he was, perhaps, doing a bit too much in the early stages, and patently failed to stay.
Baronivici, making his debut for David Barker, was free through the early stages and, at a disadvantage at these weights with all of his rivals, was well beaten in the end.
