SPIN AGAIN was the clear form pick on his second at Lingfield last month, but he had made his debut over 7f last season and was taken off his feet on the early stages here. But he came through well enough in the end and will be seen to better effect back over the longer trip.
Cheveton, though bred to appreciate further, clearly proved more at home over this trip than the 1m1f of his debut and may do better yet over an extra furlong.
Great Knight was the most interesting of the newcomers, being a half-brother to a top-class miler in Hong Kong. He had to be switched to deliver his challenge off the home turn and that cost him a little momentum. In the circumstances, he turned in a decent first effort and his pedigree suggests he will appreciate a stiffer test.
Near The Front, clueless early on, was getting the hang of things late on and should come on a lot for this debut.
Focail Eile showed plenty of dash on this racecourse debut, but was rather too keen for his own good and could not sustain his challenge in the straight.
