A strongly run handicap for amateur riders was won in fine style by BLUE SPINNAKER, whose previous win was off a mark of 90 nearly two years ago. After losing his form last term, he ran off 65 here, and made the most of his drop in the weights, travelling smoothly off the strong pace until being ridden clear in the final furlong. He'll take all the beating if turning out with a penalty.

Bivouac, who went on over three out, finished clear of the rest and though still a maiden, he should find a race. Third place went to Resplendent Ace, but he was beaten a long way in a race in which few featured.
