We Have A Dream prominent, ridden to lead just over 1f out, stayed on well
Baunagain taken down early, held up in touch on stands' rail, lost place over 2f out, headway and wanting to hang right from 2f out, chased winner last 100yds, stayed on but not able to challenge
Our Acquaintance took keen hold, in touch, headway to lead over 1f out, headed just over 1f out, kept on same pace under pressure final furlong
Blue Jack in touch, headway and ridden 2f out, every chance well over 1f out, weakened final furlong
Party In The Park close up, ridden to lead narrowly 2f out, headed over 1f out, faded final furlong
Whiteoak Lady took keen hold, held up towards rear, ridden and effort over 2f out, no impression from over 1f out
Copperwood dropped in after start, took keen hold, held up in rear, ridden halfway, never dangerous
Kalligal led until 2f out, soon ridden, weakened over 1f out
Helping Hand steadied start, took keen hold, held up in rear, ridden halfway, never dangerous
Young Ivanhoe in touch on outer, ridden and struggling halfway, no chance and eased inside final furlong
WE HAVE A DREAM, one of three saddled by William Muir on account of the lack of similar opportunities at present, was up there all of the way and edged ahead approaching the furlong marker before holding on well, the first two pulling clear. He won twice on turf with give in the ground last year and was all the better for his recent spin on the all-weather. This sort of ground is evidently important to him.
Baunagain was fit from three runs on the all-weather this year. He tracked the winner up the rail but was inclined to hang right before putting his best foot forward in the last furlong or so and closing right up on the winner, who had moved off the rail.
Blue Jack, the third Muir runner, raced wider and travelled well. He looked a serious player when picking up well over a furlong out, but he lacked a previous run and appeared to blow up. He was beaten almost eight lengths, but this was still a promising return from an unexposed colt.
Party In The Park showed up well for a long way from his wide draw, but Whiteoak Lady took a keen hold under restraint and never got into it.
