Top Lock in rear, headway on outside 3f out, still plenty to do over 2f out, rapid headway to lead approaching final furlong, stayed on well under pressure
Touchdown chased leaders, ridden and one pace when edged left 2f out, stayed on under pressure to chase winner inside final furlong but always just held
Dance The Star towards rear, ridden along halfway, stayed on from 2f out but never going pace to reach leading duo
Mahadee chased leaders, one pace when hampered 2f out, rallied and ran on final furlong but not trouble leaders
Hadron Collider led, narrowly headed 3f out but stayed challenging until over 1f out, weakened inside final furlong
Riqaab held up in rear, steady headway on outside from 4f out to take slight lead 3f out, ridden 2f out, headed and weakened approaching final furlong
Amphibalus with leader, ridden 3f out, weakened over 2f out
Very green in the early stages, the penny really dropped with him in the straight as he surged down the outside of the field. His trainer reported that he’d been improving in his homework recently and he thinks highly enough of him to beeyeing the Classic trial at Sandown's meeting at the end of the month.
Touchdown is a well-related newcomer and he ran a cracker here. He defied his lack of experience by racing professionally, as so many do from this yard, and he's clearly going to be winning races over middle distances.
Mahadee was stopped in his tracks about two furlongs out, before staying on again down the middle of the track. He'd have finished close with a clear but he was a bit too free in the early stages and he'll need to settle better to be effective over this sort of trip.
Riqaab made a sweeping move on the home turn but was soon in trouble and was a touch disappointing.
