Always well placed, the winner was shaken up to challenge the runner-up below the distance and went on to score in workmanlike style. The daughter of High Chaparral, who needs 1m2f at least and will come on for the outing, is likely to be seen next in either the Cheshire Oaks or the Musidora at York.
Duntulm, who ran a fair race last backend in the Zetland Stakes won by Twice Over, was second best to the filly in the latter stages, but ought to get off the mark before long. A grandson of the top-class Time Charter, he probably needs further than 1m and is now eligible for a handicap mark should connections choose that route for him.
There was a gap back to fourth-placed Blur, who showed more than she had on her recent debut on the Polytrack.
Hawk Flight looks the sort for minor handicaps now that he's qualified, as does Highland Homestead, who ran a nice sort of race on this return from a lengthy absence. The latter's stablemate Milldown Bay did well to finish in midfield after blowing the start and will improve for the experience.
Parliamentary, who was sold out of Mark Johnston's yard for 9,500gns after showing fair form last year, finished well adrift and will struggle from anything like his current mark of 73 on this evidence.
