It was notable for a sizeable gamble on Musical Bridge, who was foiled right on the line by APRIL PRIDE. The winner, daughter of a mare who won at 6f in the US, broke well before chasing the leaders and, noticeably more professional on her debut than the runner-up, forced her head in front on the nod. She is likely to be given a break now and there are no plans for her yet.
Musical Bridge's yard is not noted for its sucess with juveniles, but this filly cost 24,000gns and is out of a likeable mare who won nine races at 6-7f. She looked rather green and carried her head a little high, but still looked sure to prevail only to be caught on the nod. Sure to improve for the experience, she has a bit of scope and can get off the mark before long.
Imperial Skylight made a promising debut on the Kempton Polytrack, but he was unable to build on that on this turf debut. He may prefer a quicker surface.
Lagan Handout set the standard on his debut fourth behind Sally's Dilemma in the Brocklesby at Doncaster and was a little disappointing on thissecond start, fading inside the last.
Dazzling Dust is the first foal of a multiple winning sprinter for the Turner yard who won by 11 lengths on her juvenile debut. Quite a late foal, he looked and ran as if in need of the outing, but should payhis way, perhaps over 6f.
